she's still *5* - right?

While I was making supper last night, Kyria came into the kitchen with her strawberry-shortcake additions flashcards and told me she was going to tell some answers to me. (The flashcards have numbers on one side (with no answer) and representative pictures on the other side - with the answer.) I said sure-- thinking, "I can surely keep up with her, she's 5."

so - how fast can you read this?

9 + 6 = 15

8 + 5 = 13

7 + 8 = 15

5 + 1 = 6

4 + 7 = 11

9 + 9 = 18

And that's how fast she was saying it!! I turned around to tell her she needed to not look at the answers... and she WASN'T! I had to ask her to slow down - cause Mommy just wasn't thinking that fast today (um.. eVeR!).... and she just kept going!

She's *5*.
Really, she is!

Mikalah did NOT like it!

Kyria tried to make snowballs

SOOO cold..
you can see how MUCH Mikalah did NOT like it!

sweet babies (and man!)

Kyria's snow angel
watch her make it:

It's been a bit FREEZING here. Very different than what we are used to, so that adds to the perception. It snowed last Friday - the day of Kyria's class party for Valentine's day. School let out early - that was nice. We went out after naps and played in the "white stuff" that we hardly ever see. As you noticed, Mikalah was NOT a fan of the white stuff. She screamed the whole time unless I was holding her. Maybe she's just not a fan of being cold. Saturday a friend watched the girls and John and I had a few hours in the afternoon by ourselves out and about. It's nice to sit down to eat or walk through a store and not wonder who is going to do what next! :) Sunday we had a nice adult banquet at our church - makes a really long day, but Praise the Lord Monday was a holiday! So, we could sleep in! This coming Saturday is John's birthday - still trying to figure out what to do. Our SS class has a work day (morning) and then lunch at the church that day - nice birthday! :) He is starting (again) to write on his blog - about current events with a view of our Godly heritage...

Courage is not the absence of fear,
