While I was making supper last night, Kyria came into the kitchen with her strawberry-shortcake additions flashcards and told me she was going to tell some answers to me. (The flashcards have numbers on one side (with no answer) and representative pictures on the other side - with the answer.) I said sure-- thinking, "I can surely keep up with her, she's 5."
so - how fast can you read this?
9 + 6 = 15
8 + 5 = 13
7 + 8 = 15
5 + 1 = 6
4 + 7 = 11
9 + 9 = 18
And that's how fast she was saying it!! I turned around to tell her she needed to not look at the answers... and she WASN'T! I had to ask her to slow down - cause Mommy just wasn't thinking that fast today (um.. eVeR!).... and she just kept going!
She's *5*.
Really, she is!

Hi! Keith here - I found your post very funny, but I did want to point out that 4+5 is not 11. Was that her answer, or yours? lol Have a blessed week! Praying for you all....
Keith Klaus
hahaha.. thanks for pointing that out -
pretty tired when that was typed - corrected my math error.... don't think John has looked at it yet--- LOL
It's amazing how fast they learn! I'm finding that as we homeschool, we can often move faster, because there is only one pupil. It that kids gets it....move on! I'm the only one that slows them down.
Way to go, Kyria! Keep up the good math facts!
I just love your blog, it is so much fun to keep up with your life this way! I think about all of you often. Love, Aunt Sharon
