watermark/logo

The story behind the photograph watermark has quite a history. It begins with my husband's last name and his parent's deputation. 35 years ago.

Since our [their] last name, Piatt, is apparently difficult for some people to remember. and even more difficult to pronounce if only seeing it written, my father-in-law came up with a little quip to help people remember who he and his family were. and it worked.

When you walk in the kitchen you ask: Where's the pie at? [making you hungry yet?] This helped most people, and John and I still use it. mostly for helping people remember how to pronounce it: pie-at.

Fast forward to our family. the new Piatts [established June 03]. A math/computer geek married a reading/editing nerd and you get pi [as in the numerical value of the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter] and @ [the at symbol].

Combine the two and you get our watermark [for now]. {-{smiles}-} I know it's corny, but people remember it! And I am fairly certain no one will be copying it.

first day

of SECOND GRADE!

my beautiful butterfly

with the sisters who have cried
"I miss Kyria"

but butterflies have to learn to fly

I have mixed emotions about today. She is such a big girl and my big helper, but she loves school and learning, and she adores her teacher. I know that she will learn Godly principles along side her reading, writing, and arithmetic... but I do miss her.

Spring 2011. {school picture & seasonal update}

Dont faint! I'm posting something {smiles}

Kryia Esther - first grade
My cutie pie! We are staying busy, busy, busy. and we have many pictures I could post, but they are all still on our camera. WOW. ok. that's not a good thing, but that's the way it is. I am purging 'stuff' and rearranging furniture {small stuff, hubby will move beds when the time comes!} in preparation for adding another blessing to our household. So, at the moment, there are piles here and there and bags to donate and bags to throw out. It is an unorganized chaos that apparently only I know how to right- haha. Baby boy is progressing nicely and getting bigger. You can kinda see my belly in our valentine photo.
John & Tascha - Valentines 2011

We have soil turned for our garden and seeds planted in starter boxes. We do still have 2 other little girlies- {grin} but as I said before, photos are still on the camera! They are growing like crazy, and Mikalah's pronunciation is getting clearer each day. She and Anya both have quite the imagination and can entertain themselves beautifully. And sometimes they even play together beautifully! I can hardly believe Anya will be **4** in 3 weeks, and Kyria will be ***7*** in just over a month! Where does time go?  Saturday will mark exactly 3 months left until my due date, and I hope to have more pictures posted before that!

Piles are beckoning my organization... I can seriously hear them calling.

As you can see...

It's the kind that has a locking lid.

Hi-Ho Cheeryo!
This game is a LOT of fun :)

the girls each got new

"spinning" outfits
Here is a little blurp of them right after all the presents were opened.
please excuse all the mess :
I thought that John had gotten more pictures with his camera - we were both taking pictures...
Anyway, it was a memorable day. We opened gifts on Christmas Eve, and spent Christmas Day with some good friends from church. They have 2 little boys that the girls love to play with... It was a great time of fellowship, and it was very nice to just all be together for a while.
I get spoiled when John is home for even a day (I get spoiled every Saturday!).
Thanks for stopping by...
Looking forward to church tomorrow...

Just some more CHEER!!

"Isn't she sweet?"
"OH - I caught it!"
(but WHAT is IT??)
(false alarm)

"OH - OH - I love her, too!!!"
These were taken the same time as the others... just did not have the time to post them all before.  We are nearly ready for Christmas. Grandma gave us a calendar with a verse and picture for each of the 25 days of Christmas, and Kyria has greatly enjoyed reading the Christmas story this way. She gets soooo excited each night to read another verse. On Christmas day, we will read all the verses in order.
Our church's Christmas Cantata is this Sunday evening. Please pray that all goes well. Kyria's choir class sings that evening also, so I will post that as soon as I can (providing I remember the camera!!) :D
Thanks for stopping by...
If I post no more before next week -
HAVE A
BLESSED
AND
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

"This is so much fun!!"
"Mommy, she's so soft..."
"Oh, it's just such a pretty tree..."
