Lying lips? ... "in the trash!"

On Monday, Kyria was a little less than her usual wonderful self. I have rarely ever had to wonder if she would get into trouble if I laid down for a few minutes. And this day, John was home... so, what could happen?? Well, just think about blush... and eye-shadow... and a 5 year old... alone... :)

Well, after a little "discussion" about lying about what was all over her face, John taught her Proverbs 12:22a, which states: "Lying lips are abomination to the Lord:"

Today (Tuesday), she told me that "Daddy taught her a verse last night." She told it to me very well; and proceeded to tell Anya several times today. (good for her!!)

Tonight during devotions, she mentioned it again- telling John that she told Anya about it. So, John asked if she remembers what abomination is...

We are trying to get her to understand the severity of "abomination" so John asks her if she would like it if she had to touch one of Mikalah's "messy" diapers, which of course, is disgusting! So she and John are discussing how AWFUL that would be...

and Anya pipes up and says (while snorting and making awful sounds), "Oh, nassy, goss (gross). In the trash!"

Oh, what they hear and understand at such young ages... I pray it stays with them for a lifetime!!!

My heart is blessed as grandma. There is no greater gift to us as grandparents than to see and know that you and John are passing on to our grandchildren a legacy of faith to have and hold, making them aware of God. We love you!

Cute!
We teach that same verse for lying. It is a great verse, and I love the end part... "but he that dealeth truly are his delight." Keep on keepin' on! Isn't training a hard job. How I need the Lord's help daily.
