Well...we have found out that IT IS A GIRL :) !!  She is growing well and sounding/looking healthy.  Praise the Lord!! We are still looking for the right name......Poor John, he will be SOOO outnumbered :)

This last week we went to a creek to see God's nature and have a picnic.   This "creek" falls over some very large rocks and creates a beautiful waterfall-and it is only about fifteen minutes from our house!  Isn't God good? :) 

Kyria had so much fun...Anya was a bit overwhelmed, I think. But we enjoyed the morning.

We also saw a pretty butterfly....

3rd Annual Honor Service

Our church just finished its 3rd Annual Honor Service.  The theme was "Torchbearers." This year we had several missionaries that we support come in.  They had each been on the field for over 25 years.  With 8 missionaries, these years totaled over 300 years of service to our Lord!!! We had a booklet with brief biographies of their ministries to date as well as a list of all the mission

aries we support. 

We were blessed to have John's parents able to come. They have been on the field of Japan for 33 years! Our Pastor spoke of "Honor" and what it means. Whom we honor in our lives will tell others a lot about us.

Many young people came forward at the end, proclaiming that they were willing to go in the stead of missionaries who have finished their course. There were torches in the auditorium that our Pastor passed to them as a symbol of what they had committed to doing. 

The missionaries were presented with plaques to commemorate this service, telling of the number of years they had served thus far on the field to which God had called them.

After the morning service, we had our Honor's Banquet in the gymnasium. The food was delicious, and Kyria and I were able to sit with Nana and Papa Piatt as well as Bro. and Mrs. Charles Strong to Mexico.  It was a sweet time.  There was a slide presentation that included pictures from all the missionaries' ministries.  

During the evening service, each of the missionary men spoke for a few minutes about a favorite verse, giving us a challenge for our own lives.  During this service, the missionaries were presented with books of letters of appreciation from our church family as well as from some of the pastors of their supporting churches. After this time of sharing, we had a fellowship (with more food) :).
